I have really enjoyed my service learning volunteering at the Salinas Public Library. Everything went well and better than I expected. Everyone from the staff to the adult learners were all so kind and patient. I enjoyed being a part of the community there in Salinas. I think the most impactful part was just being around a part of the community that I would have never been exposed to if it weren't for this internship. It really opened my eyes to a whole another part of the Monterey Bay that is filled with a lot of beautiful and hard working human beings. Challenges I faced would probably be learning how to be more patient and attentive to students during the whole time i was there. For future students, I recommend that they volunteer here because it will ground you and humble you and make you appreciate what you have more.
