CST 311 Intro to Computer Networks Module 7: The Link Layer and LANs

1.0 Week in Summary

This week we learned about the link layer and LANs and talked about topics such as understanding the principles behind link layer services, the concepts/implementations of error detection and error correction,  the multiple access problem in sharing a broadcast channel, and how it is solved in LAN technologies, link layer addressing and the Address Resolution Protocol (ARP), and examine these using Wireshark, Ethernet technologies and implementations, including link layer switches and virtual LANs (VLANs), and programming the emulation of a four-network, three-router topology using the Mininet API.

This is the last week before our final. We are doing well on the group project. I need to finish the extra credits then i can start reviewing for the final this upcoming saturday.
